Woodward Performance Haflingers 740-829-2735 Coshocton, Ohio

June 25-26, 2011 All Breeds Carriage Driving Show, Randolph, Ohio

What a weekend! 2 Haflingers, 4 Miniatures, 8 people + lots of friends, great food, and wonderful competition = an amazing time!

Haflinger Mandolyn RVRW was driven by Mike Woodward all weekend.  The pair took 1st place in working pleasure out of 8, as well as men's pleasure driving, 3rd place in reinsmanship and 4th place in turnout, both with 7 entries each.

Marquis MJW made her debut in the driving ring this weekend with Jacque Woodward.  This three year old daughter of Mandolyn RVRW and sired by our stallion A Rock did a fabulous job at her first driving event.  Marquis ended up 4th in the working pleasure class out of 8, and 2nd in ladies to drive out of 5 great entries.  She handled the show atmosphere well for her first driving experience, and we are very happy with her and confident in her amazing young ability.

JD Woodward drove Tucker to a 2nd place finish in miniature 34 and under open turnout class out of 7 entries, 3rd in open pleasure driving out of 6 entries, and 1st in his youth pleasure driving class!  He also had a great time driving tucker in the cones course, and also on his first cross country marathon, completing all of the hazzards!

Friends Kristy and Janay Fetzer also did a great job at this show.  It was Kristy's first time driving, and she drove Misty to a first place finish in progressive cones, without knocking off a ball with over 10 entries in the class and then won the cones course also!  Go Kristy and Misty!  Janay also had an amazing show, with so many placings I can't remember, but I think her favorite were a 2nd place finish in youth driving, and a 2nd place finish in cones!  They both also completed the cross country marathon!

We can't forget to mention Kate Preston and Liz Armstrong, who were with us all weekend also.  This was the first time we took both Johnathan and Ty to a several day horse show, and both were an fabulous help with the boys, horses, food, and cleaning carriages!

June 5, 2011 All Ohio Horse Show Organization, Coshocton, Ohio

We had a great time at the show this past weekend!  It is interesting how Open Breed Show judges opinions vary each show we attend.  Since we are use to ADS judges (American Driving Society) and registered breed show judges to attend all breed horse shows again is an experience.  We had 4 horses with us, 2 miniatures, Tucker and Belle, and 2 Haflingers, Mandolyn RVRW, and Famosa Lou SFF (who is for sale under our for sale page! :)  We also had a driving student with us, Janay Fetzner and her miniature horse, Houdini, and riding student, Liz Brown with her new Haflinger she has owned for 1 week, 4 year old 'Max', and another Liz, rode Famosa Lou SFF!

JD did great in junior showmanship 8 and under, placing 3rd in a large class of 8.  He then placed 3rd out of 6 in Open Miniature Driving 34 and under.  JD was thrilled that he beat dad as Mike drove a mini for a friend of ours, (see in the pictures)  We laughed pretty hard at Mike who is use to driving the big horses, with his knees tucked up driving a mini!

Janay drove Houdini to a 2nd place ribbon in Open Minature Driving 34-38 out of 7 in the class, while Jacque showed Belle to a 5th place.  Janay did an excellent job in her second driving class ever!  Belle decided she would rather not bend in the corners, and called out to her long lost friends, proving that the horses may not like each other out in the field, but when they are at a show together, they are best friends forever. :)

Mike Woodward drove Mandolyn RVRW to a 1st place in open driving 38-50 inches, while Jacque showed her in halter in open pony with a 4th place finish out of 7.

'Little Liz' showed her new Haflinger, four year old Max in his first ever class, walk trot, and came home with a fifth place finish out of 8!  Congrats to Liz and Max for overcoming your jitters and showing!  You two make a great team!

'Big Liz' and Famosa Lou SFF showed in their first Open Breed Show in the Open English Pleasure Classes.  Once Liz got over her fears and remembered her correct diagonals, they did wonderful, with Famosa taking correct leads each time, and had no worries.

We are so happy and proud of everyone!  Congrats and enjoy the pictures!
